Results?

Fluid Thoughts to action was a great workshop, because it helped me to better understand architecture, in the way that it is explored in volume rather than sections, plans and elevations. It was much different to the other 2 workshops, so I could not incorporate some of the elements i learned in them, but nonetheless, the workshop stands alone very strongly.

Overall, the Communications course has contributed substantially to the way i will present further designs and also the way i examine and interpret existing structures and space.

Fluid Thoughts to Action

Results?

This workshop helped me analyze information and re-interpret it in my own form. Rather than designing my own building, we analyzed an existing one, with such depth that I was able to absorb the themes that Harry Seidler ( I did the Seidler House) had played around with when designing this building. For example, the juxtaposition of a minimalist and purist design with an abstract and spontaneous mural on its entry wall.

I felt the influence of the previous workshop that i had undergone (Atlas of Colour) in my final presentation drawings, which incorporated colour, and hence made it stronger. At this point, I was thinking of the next workshop that i wanted to do ( Fluid thoughts to action), and thus, drew the 3d drawing in charcoal.

Drawing Workshop

Rsults?

Through this workshop, I felt a more increased connection to colour, not only in architecture, but its use in design and organisation as well. I liked the system that i developed, which uses colour as a way of navigating through my atlas, rather than using a numbering system.

Furthermore, I found the excursion to the synagogue at Bondi to be rather educating, in the way that i experienced how colour affects the interior of a structure; and also learned about the Jewish culture.

Initial Thoughts

Entering the ARCH1142 Communications course, I'm hoping to achieve a better knowledge and understanding of how architects communicate. I have three workshops which i would like to complete: Atlas of Colour, the Drawing Workshop and Fluid Thoughts to action. I believe each workshop provides its own unique element, which, once learned and properly executed, can enhance the presentation of future designs.
